About Vauban Paris
New objects with old souls.
Fashion moves fast. Every season brings a new logo, a new shape, a new must-have, and most of it is gone a year later.
We went the other way. We looked at the things that lasted: engraving, enamel, period illustration, the frames people have worn for decades. Then we asked what they would look like if they were made today, for the way you carry today.
That is what Vauban Paris makes. New objects with vintage roots, reread with today's codes.
Three different objects. One idea.
-
The card holder
Shop card holdersA slim leather card holder embossed with a shishi, a guardian lion inspired by traditional Japanese and Chinese art.
-
The tin card case
Shop tin casesMen once carried a flat metal case in their breast pocket, made for cigarettes. We kept the case and changed the job: it now holds your cards and cash, with period illustrations on the lid, from vintage and Art Nouveau to gothic and retro.

What we stand for
-
Old roots, said plainly.
Our motifs come from traditions and period styles. We didn't invent them, and we never say we did.
-
Things you actually use.
No shelf pieces. Everything we make lives in a pocket or on your face.
-
Honest specs.
We list only what we have confirmed, and it matches what you receive.
A word on the shishi
The shishi, or guardian lion, came to Japan from China, where stone lions guarded temples and palaces. In Japan they stand in pairs at shrine gates, one mouth open, one closed. They're protectors. That's why we put one on the thing that holds your money.
